officiating pet peeves
Ok, the official on the Cowboys-Redskins game just did THE thing that drives me the MOST nuts. "Prior to the snap...flase start". Well no shit...if it's after the snap it isn't a false start now is it? Sheesh.

Anybody else got something like that that drives them NUTS? :)

1. Not related to officiating, but other idiot terms like "pre-boarding"
and "pre-ordering".

The entirety of one's life which one spends before stepping onto a plane is the period of "pre-boarding". Once you are on the plane, you are boarded. There is no such thing as boarding before you board. Even if you are the first person on, and they let get on before they make the general call to other passengers, you haven't "pre-boarded", you have still "boarded". You can say that you have "boarded before the general call for boarding" or maybe even "boarded early", but not "pre-boarded".

And once you order something, you've ordered it. Doesn't matter if it hasn't been released yet. It's no "pre-ordering". It's the state of pre-ordering as you are, let's say, preparing to click the "pre-order this item" button at Amazon. But once clicked, you've ordered.

ARGH!!!

2. I totally agree...also unrelated...
I hate when the score is 50-48 and some idiot announcer says "they're within 2 points". No they aren't...they're within 3. ARGH!
