680-580 interchange awash in Bud beer
Dublin
A truck overturned late Sunday night spilling hundreds of beer bottles onto the roadway, causing the closure of a major connector ramp for a couple hours.
A Budweiser truck carrying 48,000 pounds of bottled Budweiser and Bud Light overturned around 11:45 p.m. Sunday on the interchange ramp from westbound Interstate 580 to northbound Interstate 680 in Dublin, police said.
The driver was negotiating a right hand turn when the truck overturned, landed on its left side and slid into a guardrail in the center divider, said Highway Patrol Officer Steve Creel.

While most of the bottles were broken, Creel warned that anyone found taking a beer from the scene could be arrested for theft or cited for stopping on the freeway without a reason.
