'Riding the Storm Out'
for those of you that were on the edge of your seat wondering how ol' KG was doing, well, i'm here to say i'm doing ok. jeanne was pretty much a tropical storm when it got to my 'hood. still windy and raining but i still got power in my part of st. pete tho it flickered from time. there was some arcing and sparking going on earlier at the transformer behind my apt, and there are some wires hanging loose.

anyone know a good way to check and see if they are live?

1. Assume They Are
Unless you want to try for a Darwin award by walking up and checking them out, it is better to just avoid them. Call the power company.

2. Call the power company
don't go near them otherwise. Even the pros sometimes get electrocuted, and they have the equipment and expertise to know what they are doing.

4. Glad you did well, homie....
We did very good to, only tropical storm force winds with a few gusts to about 80, nothing major. No trees came down because Frances already knocked them down, there were not left.

My dad lives right outside of Sebastian, and they got WHALLOPED up there, he said it was the craziest thing he's ever seen. (weather-wise) They got 110 sustained with a peak gust at 139 as the wind was getting funneled between the houses, according to a local amateur weather near their house.

Heyo
