The fuz might have slowed you down about a tenth of a second over the entire 100 miles, but I doubt it would have kept you from finishing. I think you need to hit the streets more, man, and do some serious training before you attempt 100 miles.

4. I just found out that my cyclist brother shaves his legs.

He tried to give me some cockamamie theory about how it reduces cut/scab issues if he wipes out. He did allow that SOME cyclists shave b/c it makes their legs look better.

Seriously, I just shaved my legs the first time this summer for bicycling. It was a good thing, because I hate it when I ride through a cloud of aphids that afterwards stick to my legs. Yuckk! Mucho better with legs shaved! No extra miles, though.

And yes, the socks were white. Too long (I don't wear those footie things) but white.
