1. i had a spider in each boot bite me
atleast 10 times each while i was cleaning up from ivan, ask ME anything

4. #1 i diddent know they were in there until it was too late
and #2 my boots are about mush on the inside, they could crawl up in there deep and never come out, so i tossed them out and about a week later after things got normal enough to try to get through wal-mart i found some new boots

6. I ALWAYS check my boots and shoes for spiders and scorpions.
I've seen a black widow as big as a silver dollar up here in the wilds. The scorpions are small (<1-inch, usually), and their sting is less painful than a wasp, I am told.

9. it isint THAT much of a problem
we have brown recluses here but they dont go into shoes often

10. I got bitten by a brown recluse in 1976.
I have a deep scar on the palm surface of my left "bird" finger from that bite. It blistered, then became necrotic. It took months to heal. I have them here in the mountains too.

Damn! Big cats, bears, scorpions, copperheads, timber rattlers, and bad-ass spiders! Why am I here? Well, let me count the ways ...
