I spend a lot of time in my car. I just got into audiobooks about two months ago. Now, instead of listening to the f'n radio I can learn something. And they are free from the library.
One drawback is I want to keep listening when the car ride is over but I think it wouldn't be right to bring them inside.
I steal them from alt.binariea.sounds.audiobooks. I must have hundreds. If your ISP allows access to Usenet they are totally free. What you really need is a portable mp3 device. Most of the books I get are ripped to 64 bps. That means a whole book is usually about 500 MB. Lately I've been getting Nero Wolf. Good stories, very well read. The reader has a lot to do with how well you enjoy the book. Just downloaded John Stewart's America.
