Authorities seize 80,000 cans of dog food sold as foie gras
The Health and Agriculture ministries' branches in Ashkelon yesterday seized 80,000 cans of dog food that had been disguised as foie gras, as if fit for human consumption.

The product, imported from Bulgaria by Fried Leonid and originally labeled "chicken for dogs," was given two different fraudulent labels: "Domestic Birds liver pate. Producer: S.E. Grenot, France" and "Pate foie gras. Producer: Lovmit General Toshevo."

The Health Ministry has warned the public not to consume products bearing these labels. Shirley Deri, food engineer for the district of Ashkelon, said the products had not been distributed to food chains; however, the Health Ministry is still investigating if there had been early deliveries of the canned goods.

"The health risks from such a product are considerable. It could contain microbiological pathogens that are lethal to humans," Deri said.

3. Hey!
Purina one cat food
tastes just like like chicken flavored Frito's.I was curious and ate one.

Why not Serve Purina one at the next super bowl get together, put it in the snack mix and see if anyone notices...hehehe..

After eating a morsel of cat food myself I realized If I ONLY fed my kitties the Purina one, they would be living off the equivalent of Frito's soaked in chicken broth, talk about a junk food diet!
So to make sure my kitties are healthy I cook chicken meat and rice once a week,I put it in a food processor with cooked egg and a dollop of cat vitamin goo,a touch of garlic, and make a real meal for them, I portion it and freeze it in zip locks, and warm it to serve it,the cats love it,the Purina Frito's are their cat snacks.

And my kitties began to glow with health, and they still do ever since they went off the all kitty Frito diet.

5. I Know I Am
If the pretentious who'd eat it wouldn't know the difference, it's just as good as turkey bacon.

7. hmm
I somehow doubt that the animals used for the dog-food were much better off, than the ducks kept for foie gras.

8. Most dog food is made from
Slaughterhouse by-products, meaning the crap that they can't sell to the human consumer. Check the labels...stuff like "animal by-products" means that they don't even know what was rendered together to make the food (including euthanized shelter animals).

So, no, the animals used to make the dog food were no better off, though the majority of them were specifically tortured and killed JUST for the dog food...likely just the downers (those too sick to make it to slaughter).
