I have had a really crappy day at work today.
I am going to the store to get something for dinner & something to drink.
What do you suggest?

1. you too?
This has been a pissy day. Get some steaks, make a big salad, have a glass of wine and put on some tunes.

9. hi rainbow! sorry about your day... i dont eat meat either but
im sure you can find something good.... i often have black bean burritos, linda mccartney meal, and any number of things
a good salad, brown rice or baked red potato

i love being a vegetarian, though its only in the last several years that we have had lots more options. i should say variety.

and of course some room saved for a good drink
i havent had any alcohol for some time so im not the resource for that but come november 2nd, its organic wine and beer for me!

wishing you a weekend with nice weather and relaxation

11. Oh, I don't eat beef or pork. Haven't given up poultry yet.
So I guess my recommendations are verboten. (baked or fried chicken)

Gee, I don't know, then. Vegetarianism is a specialized eating program. Like I guess you have to mix a grain with something else to make a "complete" food, but I forget what else you have to mix it with.

If you just want to feel good, then maybe something junky, like chips and dip. And it doesn't really go w/alcohol except for margaritas (my drink of choice).

2. All the stores make
baked or fried chicken. I always like that. It's convenient and not expensive.

For a specialty, I like tamales from a special tamale place, or boiled crawfish from a special seafood place....but both of those places are hard to get to and inconvenient, so I usu. don't bother.

To drink...you mean liquor? Or non-alcoholic?

charcoal, and a big ol' steak. Just cut off the horns, slap it on the ass, and throw it on the grill. Forget your worries for a day, and enjoy the outdoors. No Bush, No Iraq, No Faux News, just the sounds of nature.

6. chocolate and bailey's
does it for me every time. hot or cold.

cheese, sausage/salami, crusty bread and wine is a great de-stressing treat too.

anything italian with lots of cheese.

i've had a bad work day too... just funded a mortgage in the escrow from hell, my apt is full of boxes and my neck and shoulders have the queen mother of all stress knots...

i think i'll practice what i preach and have a bailey's and chocolate when i get home too!

8. If you don't eat meat, grill some portobello mushrooms
add a salad, fresh cantalope and something chocolate.

Adult beverage of your choice.

10. Hmmm, something not too heavy if you're already feeling down...
How about a nice soup, bread, and salad with wine? Get some nice rosemary bread, make a salad with fuit and cheese and nuts, and some kind of nice vegetarian soup? Or oould make cornbread. Drink a fruity wine like beaujolais.

Or, do Mexican food and make yourself some mojitos! (I know mojitos are Cuban, but isn't Cuban food more meat oriented?)

Good luck.
