Three cheers for the smart, savvy teenagers & young adults of today!!!!
I met the other day with Young Democrats chapters from four local colleges and universities and there were also about FIFTY high school kids there. Total of around 350 kids ages 16-22.

My God, I couldn't believe them. Some could tell you the names of every Supreme Court justice who has ever been on the bench. Some could talk in great detail about the geopolitical ramifications of our involvement in the Israel/Palestine conflict. All of them were VERY well-informed about politics and social issues.

I was SO damn blown away. When I was 18, I was drinking a lot, in college, "vogue-ing" (Madonna, snort), dating, being poor, and BARELY paying attention to the news.

I swear I was almost moved to tears. How hokey is that? If these kids are the future, I have so much hope. They were smart, confident and ready to KICK ASS AND TAKE NAMES!!!!

There is hope. I saw their faces.

6. I dunno
I was a young democrat when I thought Orrin Hatch was a jerk while watching CSPAN with my grandmother and asking who the good guys were? I only wish she had said the democrats but she's a fair woman, so she didn't say that but she doesnt know how liberal she really is.

7. It's amazing how smart some people are.
If I become President in 30-40 years, I will appoint some of them to my cabinet.

Deal?
