Politics of non-US celebrities and artists.
There never are any lists of Canadian, British, Irish or Australasian celebrities. Maybe that reflects on our North American obsession with celebrity, but as I'm as shallow as the next guy, I thought I'd try to put together a list of famous non-US citizens and their political views. Help me out. I'll start with Britain.

Ian McKellen - Old school leftie.
Robert Carlyle - Seriously socialist
Radiohead - Leftists to a man.
Elvis Costello - Very much on the left.
The Proclaimers - Hard core socialists.
Paul McCartney - Claims to be a socialist (I'll give him the benefit
of the doubt)
Paul Weller (The Jam, Style Council etc) - Definitely of the left.

OK. It's early and I'm stumped for now.

7. Yes.
He and Maggie had a good chuckle over tea when he played "There Is Power in a Union" for her. Fuckin' Tory. :grr:

Plus, you know his "Barking, Essex" accent is TOO outrageous to be real.

11. He also drove a tank in the army.
"Drove a tank" meaning "played polo with the Pince of Wales."

he sure doesn't sound like he did. How's that for a bit of uninformed American comment on Brit class bias and accents?

8. Nick Cave...
Australian by birth, British by residence (lives in Sussex)...said in an interview in the Times a few weeks ago "Things are utterly fucked...the George Bush brigade is legion in the Biblical sense of the word." Which kind of gives one an idea of where he stands on the issue, I think...
