Poll question: Which Chick tracts are most innacurate?
Edited on Sun Sep-07-03 04:06 PM by ButterflyBlood
I've been thinking about this since I brought up his D&D one in GD, I happen to know that almost all of them are full of lies and mistruths anyone with a modicum of knowledge what he's talking about can easily knock down.

1. OTHER: "All Of Them"
They are almost funny in their naive and narrow-minded and simplistic portrayal of the world, though.

2. All of them
they are all funny too, except that there are people who take them seriously. We bought our house from a very Christian person, who left them all over the house, hidden in drawers, shelves, cabinets etc. Too bad they were all ones I already had.

This is a pretty funny parody site - http://www.weirdcrap.com/chick/

4. I was absolutely terrified by them when I was younger
I didn't find them too funny them. When I was a teenager they made me feel nauseous. Now I find them funny.

3. I saw one Chick anti-Catholic tract....
... claiming that rectories and convents were connected by underground tunnel systems (replete with burial crypts for aborted fetuses),which were built to facilitate clandestine nocturnal assignations between priests and nuns. I'm pretty sure that's a mistruth. :eyes:

5. That story got started before the Reformation...
Funny, though, before around the 12th century, Priests WERE allowed to marry...

7. That is an OLD legend...ive heard that in Europe
...in Germany, after a few shots of shnapps, from some protestant freinds of the family. I think this is one of those hoary legends from Europes wars of religion that made it to this side of the Atlantic.

8. his most amusing
was the claim that Hitler and Stalin were really secret Catholic Priests bent on controling the world in a grand scheme in which Fascism and Communism were really just tools of the Vatican used to try to take over the world.
