How to get rid of Centipedes???? Blech. Help!!!!
For the past couple of days, I've been noticing baby centipedes running about. Not many. Only about four so far. But it has me concerned that somewhere there's a big old nest, with an equally big momma!!! I cannot stand centipedes. I'm shivering as I type this. Anyone have any tried and true centipede removal tricks??? Much appreciated in advance!!

4. Blech - I had garden centipedes in my last townhouse
and I did a bit of research on getting rid of them after I woke up one morning and found one dangling from the air vent directly above my pillow.

If you have garden centipedes (pictured above - the ones that look more like elongated crickets than the hard-shelled, rounded centipedes/millipedes), they're bug hunters. That means you might also have some other insect infestation serving as their food source. Cockroaches or ants, probably. Address the food source issue, and the centipedes will go elsewhere.

Or it could be that you just have little spaces in your doors and windows where they're coming in from outside now that the weather's turning a bit cooler. If that's the case, you should sprinkle some sevin dust around any such opening. They'll track through it and eventually die.

You can also keep some roach spray around for the times you see one scurrying across the floor or wall - it'll kill 'em, but you've gotta be quick to catch 'em, and then you have to pick up and dispose of the partially-bug-spray-melted carcass, which is gross.

Good luck!

6. If there's little ones there's big ones.
I squish them if I see them. They don't really bother me. I have had scorpions and even a tarantula in here when I first moved here.

9. Your cat doesn't kill them?
I see one once in while in my house. You get them in big cities. They don't hurt anything.

My cat thinks they are toys.
