Not sure I can stand to watch the debates...

See, I have a really hard time watching people be embarrassed or at a loss, and watching emotional conflict. There's a reason I don't watch much TV, and that is a big part of it. Many shows thrive on exposing just those things, which I cringe at watching. I guess I just empathize too much with people, LOL.

So all of this means, I will be a big mix of pissed-off and barely-able-to-watch while watching the debates. Reading transcripts is fine, but watching * stumble and stutter his way through inane bullshit may be beyond me.

Anyone else not sure they can subject themselves to watching that?

3. Ever since Bush's "shame on you" blunder..

I am unable to watch him. I get so embarrassed!! I have to change the channel, even if I know the segment is taped.

5. I can't stand to watch Bush* at all

because it makes me :puke: to think that such a fuckwit is the Leader of the freakin' Free World. But I might try to watch the debates as long as I never put down the remote and remove anything nearby that I might be tempted to throw at the TV. And then I will immediately turn off the pinheaded pundits who will be waiting impatiently in the wings for their opportunity to tell us all how brilliant The Chimpinator was and how Kerry sucked.

It makes me so angry that he commands such respect (blind devotion?) from so many. Are they truly blind and deaf that they do not see how little he knows about what he is doing? And definitely, definitely not watching post-debate 'discussion'. I can read enough about it here!

Kerry will, of course, be more knowledgable and will have complete command of the actual issues. But remember that doesn't mean anything in this day and age of political debates. No one will focus on the substance. All people remember are the shallow soundbytes, and Bush has mastered that game. All you're going to hear from the peanut gallery afterwards is "gee, that John Kerry sure sweats a lot"; "Kerry looks tired"; "Bush really impressed me. He can pronounce his own name correctly." It's a foregone conclusion that the SCLM will declare Bush the winner regardless of what is said. Our only hope is that one of the moderators will actually screw up and ask Bush a tough question.
