I may have converted the internet installation guy to Kerry!!!

HEY!!! Thank you to everyone who recommended that I go with the cable modem as opposed to DSL. I haven't even begun to play around on it yet, but I can tell just by coming here to DU that it will knock my socks off! :bounce:

BUT, more important than that, when he was setting up my Internet Explorer, and asked what I use for my home page, I told him, "Democratic Underground." He sort of looked at me, and looked around my home office with its Clark and Kerry stuff all over... and I got brave and started talking a little politics.

Well, someone was on my side on this one, because in the meantime, he was on hold with his home office to get the account running, and they kept putting him back on hold, back on hold, back on hold... I had a half-hour to talk to this man!!! And he actually listened!!! He is NOT thrilled with bush, but just wasn't ready to trust Kerry, because he doesn't know enough about him! But when he left, he wrote down his email address, and asked me to send him more information about Kerry!!! AND, furthermore, he agreed to go see F9/11!!! I'm so excited about this, because he is one of those who, despite all of his misgivings, was going to vote for bush, and I got him to at least agree to look at what I send him and THINK about what each man has to offer our country, and he even said, "You just might have made a convert out of me."!!! YIppEEEEEEEEEEE!! :bounce:

4. You did the right thing by going with cable broadband.

The only thing that might beat it is a T1 line a work that your boss pays for! The down side is your family and neighbors will start forgetting what you look like from not seeing you very often.

5. ha, I thought of that...

My husband is usually out of town one night a week for work, and when he was planning this week, I sweetly suggested that he might want to be out of town on Tuesday, since I would be playing on my computer! :)

I am just so happy with it so far, I'm like a kid in a candy shop! I haven't even bothered to go look at ads at MoveOn, or try to watch archived shows on C-SPAN, because my connection was so slow - nothing ever worked!

Now I need to go get a router, so my husband and son will be able to join in the fun! :D

6. Our Federal Express guy got signs, stickers and buttons the other

day when he came by. We have them stacked inside our front door because we're the neighborhood supply place.

He said "Great, I've been wanting some of these."
