Harley Davidson Owners are a bunch of whiny little boys (a minor rant)
Before I get accused of sexism, let me make it plain that I am not complaining about any female riders, as they rarely, if ever, give me any grief. So there! :P

Anyway, why do they call me three times a day when I've told them that their parts are on backorder and I'll contact them when they arrive? Why do they send me 15 emails a day to ask where their New for '05 Skull medallion, Skull grips, Skull fender tip trim, Skull foot-pegs, Skull foot-boards, Skull passenger foot-boards, Skull windshield, etc., will be released?

Things I hear on a daily basis:

"I need that chrome medallion because I'm going on a ride this weekend"

"I was calling to check on the status of an order I made on the Internet. When did I make the order? Oh, about 5 minutes ago....I wanted to find out if it had shipped yet."

"I tried to order this part online but it said "in store purchase only". Can I order it online?"

Funniest part is, since I'm so good with customers, many of the more difficult ones actually call and ask for me, rather than deal with the rather "crusty" parts guys, who tend to have little patience for the more idiotic questions I answer on a daily basis. So, because of my decent customer service skills, I've ended up with all of the customers that nobody else wants. How fair is that?

So, in protest, I'm playing a little hooky today and posting on DU! Everybody's getting their chrome a little later this week (except the nice customers of course, I'm not an ogre). :P

<end rant>

3. What a bunch of poseurs!
I need my chrome because Chad in accounting has a nicer skull on his fender than I do. Get a grip, yuppie!

Why do I suspect most of your trouble is not from the "old school" riders, but the noveau riche faux biker-cool guys?

5. It actually comes from all socio-economic levels
Apparently one trait that all Harley Owners seem to share is impatience. ;-)

8. I quit riding the day they made electric starters for Harleys
then they started renting them out for the weekend. (harleys, not the starters) Wonder what these guys would look like after getting slapped on the calf by a kickstart pedal?

9. LOL

I still have the kick start on the old sporty. I need to find time to put it back together one of these days so I can start riding again.

Yes, I actually do my own wrench work on my scooters, unlike the RUB's (Rich Urban Bikers)
:P

12. LOL
No skull shit. Need a new set of cases, crank, rods, pistons and some other actual parts before I can worry about dress up parts.
