I have a theory: Progressives are gifted
and Republicans are not. This does not mean that Repubs are dumb. Gifted just means we see things differently. Deeper and in greater dimensions. Gifted people are artists, poets, writers and visionaries. As Bernard Wiener says of artists: "They simply see too much too clearly." He wrote a great article, Artistic Symbolism and the Coming Bush Fall. Well worth reading. If this is true Republicans may not ever be able to see the reality we live in as they are not right brained enough. What do you think? My friend says I should not take politics so seriously. I say she is asking me not to be me. My republican husband says I think on a completely different level than him.

6. JVS comes close to my theory that all people are
assholes! I actually started writing a book about that and then realized that I was an asshole myself. But Jesus loves me, yes I know, for the Bible tells me so THERE!

7. Well said.
I agree wholeheartedly. I've known this all along, but your post is written so well I felt compelled to respond.

During my lifetime my right brain thinking has often been a hindrance as I try to survive in a left brained culture. But I cannot imagine being like "them".
