Wow ! I saw just a Kerry pin at work !
A sorta cute boy I've been watching at work has a Kerry pin on his bookbag. I just saw it on my afternoon walk back from the soda machine.

What should I do - say "I like your pin ?" Offer him one of my extra bumper stickers ? Ask him to marry me ??

:) I'm such a dork at things like this !!

1. Start by telling him you like his pin
That should break the ice. :)

3. I like your pin is a nice way to open. ;)
If he responds positively, you could reply something like, "Yeah, this upcoming election is probably the most important one of our lifetimes" and get a chat going. Then if you want to see him afterwards, ask for his phone number by telling him you volunteer for something or other and did he want to help?

Also, if you get an immediate flirting vibe, you don't even have to go through that pretense. Just ask him for coffee to discuss politics. Good luck! :)

4. Yeah, what the poster above said.
That should start off groovy conversations. And nine times out of ten he probably can't stand the Shrub, then you guys can talk about that over a lunch date!

5. Definetly, there is a conversation opener!
I just went into my work on my day off and there was someone(a customer) wearing a Kerry pin that I had given them weeks ago..it made me smile!

And I got my beautiful Kerry/Edwards/A Stronger America.. bumperstickers today and gave one away and put one on my car!:D

6. Wear your own Kerry pin tomorrow, and when you walk past
him tomorrow you can call attention to it saying "hey! another Kerry supporter!" If he acts friendly, then tell him your name. That will start your political friendship (and possible future romantic relationship).

Don't be too nervous, after all he's a Dem so he's bound to be nice.

7. Complement the pin and ask him to go on a canvass with you.
Get to spend the whole day together, without looking like you are asking him out.

8. Btw, I just read that quote by Carville that you have.
That's pretty funny. Did he forget his wife is a republican? LOL!

9. Rednecks for Kerry
I nearly passed out when I saw not one, but two guys in pickup trucks the other day with Kerry bumper stickers. This is Covington, GA for goodness sake! One was even a Union sticker for Kerry. And these were beer belly bubbas. It was a good day.

I struck up conversation with his supervisor who I've known for a couple years and she told me he's ... not available.

Bummer for me but there's a lucky guy out there somewhere !! :)

12. Aw. But it's a nice way for us to be able to identify each other!
It's like how gay guys used to wear earrings in certain ears to identify each other--now at least liberals know they're not flirting with conservatives! Now you know what to look for! :)
