John Edwards signs contract with NBA's Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers announced today they have signed second-round draft pick Rashad Wright and free agent John Edwards.

Terms of the contracts were not released.

Wright was the 59th pick overall in the NBA draft. A 6-2, 190-pound guard from Georgia, Wright averaged 8.8 points per game in four seasons with the Bulldogs and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year his senior season.

Edwards is a 7-foot, 275-pound center who played at Kent State. He was first team All Mid-American Conference and led the MAC in blocked shots. He averaged 13.2 ppg and 6.7 rpg last season a senior.

The Republicans will surely demand that the terms of his contract be released and thoroughly investigated. I'll take an educated guess that it's a one-year "rookie minimum" deal (i.e., an annual salary of $385,277), but probably not guaranteed for the entire season.
