Is it true that yawns are contagious?

at least among social mammals like us. When a pack needs to be alert the yawning spreads throughout the pack.

All mammals yawn except giraffes. (Neck too long to push extra blood up to the brain just by yawning. they have a different system)

My friend and coworker just became a daddy for the first time this morning. The BF and I are going to see the baby next week. Other than the fact that she'll be dressed in pink, she'll probably look a lot like this little darling! :loveya:
