Anyone else just SICK of children???
I don't mean to sound like an ogre here, but in my office people constantly bring their kids in and let the run amok!:grr:

Why do parents let their kids be so obnoxious in public???:grr::nuke:

1. reply
Bringing kids in is fine, as long as they are kept under their parents supervision and they are asked to behave themselves.

3. Why would someone bring their kids to an office ?
Its a place of work not a daycare . I could understand if you are coming there for a couple of minutes but don't let them run amok . Its very distracting I think .

28. babysitting arrangments fall through sometimes.
but bringing the kid to work should only be a last resort, and the kid should be kept under control!

6. Problems with children:
1. They don't understand veiled threats, sarcasm, or sardonic humor.
2. They look positively ill in evening wear.

8. No, I just got news that a coworker had a new baby.
Right now I'm thinking of teensy little baby fingers and toes and pink receiving blankets (they had a girl) and the smell of a new baby. *swoon*

But I know what you mean. Sometimes I don't understand parents. But it's almost never the kid's fault, you know?

You should be sick of parents with no consdieration of their co-workers' needs.

10. They can't afford babysitters. Just about 99% of the problems in society
point straight back at the businesses who exploit and abuse us because 99% of society's problems revolve around money.

It's as simple as that.

11. Be sick of the parents.
They are the reason you have to put up with this. If they were actually parenting the running amok would be stopped and the children removed. Sorry, it is not easy to be a parent but way too many parents don't even try.

19. your ire should be directed elsewhere...
the parents are to blame...the kids are just doing what kids do. The parent a) should not have brought them to work and b) should reign in the munchkins if they DO bring them to work!

25. Most definitely blame the parents.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when parents allow their children to run willy-nilly in restaurants.

Listen up, parents, you may think every action of your child is precious and adorable, but many strangers do not.

I am a parent and never was my child allowed to get up from his seat in a restaurant (even McDonald's) and wander around, annoying other patrons.

29. I can't STAND screaming brats in public
I always involuntarily ball up a fist eagerly wanting to "silence" them. It's usually the white trash ghetto families too dragging their rug rats with them totally undisciplined.

The children are our future
but the present is MINE!

36. Sometimes I wish I had an ignore button for kids and parents -
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 03:55 PM by 28erl
- like when the parents let them run inside of roped off display areas at christmas time
- or parents put them on their shoulders right in front of you and now you can't see
- or when parents bring them into the college computer labs
- or when parents let them scream and cry in the stores and it is midnight
- or when parents let them scream or cry in a restaurant
- or when parents think every thing they do is cute while they are crawling on you
- or when they bite

but other times I like running amuck with them

parenting is a tough job - and once you sign up - you have them for life

38. I wish I had clicked on this link earlier.
I'm sure I would have enjoyed the "deleted message" exchange! :D

At work, we used to have what we called a "baby stampede". You could hear it from miles away. Someone would bring in their new baby, and half of the staff would run recklessly to the vicinity of the baby just to coo at him/her. I wasn't annoyed as much as I was amused.
