Good Times fans - I need your help!
I've been seeing reruns on UPN and I don't know who one of the characters is.

It seems the father is gone and there is some other man there who looks too young to be Florida's husband, but doesn't appear to be Thelma's husband either. Is he a cousin or something?

What's the story?

1. it's not Bookman the Super
I can't remember who came on board when James passed on (i.e. demanded more money from the show and was shitcanned).

4. You Sure?
I thought they had Bookman in more of a featured role after John Amos left. Other than Thelma's husband and JJ, I can't think of any other man who was in the cast -- I don't even think the kid who played Michael was around at that point.

I think the theme from that show should be the alternate National Anthem. "Ain't we lucky we got 'em...."

5. Hey whatever happened to John Amos? He used to show up in EVERY-
THING! He was on MTM as Gordie the sports guy. Or was it weather?

...on The West Wing, before he got blown up in the attack on the convoy that Donna was in on the season finale.

John Amos has incredibly bad luck on TV.

Edit: For dropped word, and to add: I believe Gordy was the sportscaster at WJM.

6. Well, I know John Amos, who played the father, quit the show.
Some dispute with Norman Lear over the direction the show was going in - I think he was angry about the increased focus on J. J. As to who the other person is, I have no idea at all.
