I'm taking my cat to the vet to get her spayed. Very sad.
I hate having to cage her up and put her in my bike basket. She's staring at me through the bars of her cat carrier and looking very desperate.

Still, this will keep her from going into heat (god, I hate that!) and from peeing on the bed.

Anyhow, wish me luck.

G'bye!

1. She will be all the better for it.
When a cat I had went through her first heat, I rushed her to the vet to be spayed. No way was I going to go through that again.

2. Good luck!
It's always been traumatic for me to do it, but it is for the best! I honestly believe they're more comfortable afterwards and there are just way too many poor cats put down each year. You're preventing that. Besides, they'll sedate her and she'll sleep through it all. I think it's harder on us sometimes!! :)

Good luck to your cat and you.

3. She'll be just fine.
I hate taking my boys to the vet too. But she'll be a much happier kitty when it's done.

Let us know what happens.

4. It's all for the best.
But it is difficult to look at one's pet in that state and not be affected. (If you have a heart, that is.) Good luck to the Koolzip Kitty.

No need to go into a long post about unwanted litters. Thanks for being responsible. And your cat will be better off for it.

8. By spaying her early
You're also virtually eliminating her chances for various nasty cancer-related illnesses in the future, or so recent research tells us.

Plus, no more kittens to contribute to the pet overpopulation problem.

Good luck to you and kitty!

11. Althea gets to go in for that in October. . .
I hope she doesn't hold it against me. She's such a loving little lap kitty right now :).

Stella got over it pretty quickly. She growled at the nurses, but was very glad to see me. She's still a little lovebug.

14. Just did this yesterday
got female cat spayed and male dog neutered. It is for the best. The cat was the latest stray who adopted us and the dog we rescued from the pound just last week. The world absolutely does not need any more unwanted animals.

Both furries are doing very well. The dog seems a bit stiff-legged, poor thing. But the cat is wanting out already.

Good luck!

15. It's the right thing to do.
We just visited a local clinic that handles the N in the efforts to Trap, Neuter and Release feral cats. Visiting there was sobering. People brought in HUNDREDS of ferals who were all treated on that single day. The sheer mass of uncared for cats was tragic.

We went there to have the stray cat and 3 kittens we rescued a while back treated. We had a hard time doing so, especially as we've spent so much effort earning their trust and getting them recovered from their near starved condition. I wasn't sure we'd ever get the trust back, but knew this had to be done.

However, it's a couple days later and they are acting like nothing happened. Plus part of the treatment was deworming. We know one had worms for sure, and the rest probably had them as well. So they are likely to become much healthier as a result.

Hang in there.
