Whatever happened to Matthias Rust?

For those who don't know, he was a young private pilot who flew a Piper Cub airplane from Germany, through the thick Soviet anti-aircraft defenses and landed his plane in Red Square. Embarrassed the Soviet government no end. This was back in, oh, 1987 or so. Anybody know what became of him after his fifteen minutes of fame?

1. It was a Cessna 172, not a Piper Cub.

I think they threw him in jail for awhile, then finally let him go.

My guess is he is working as an engineer for an avitaion firm in Stuttgart and builds model flying aircraft in his free time.

Occasional appearances on TV (80s themed and/or wall shows) and sometimes wacky business ideas.
Prison in Russia, two years in prison in Germany for attempting to murder a nurse, converted to Hinduism, got caught shoplifting, moved to Russia, came back, moved to India, came back, now married and living in Berlin.

The normal stuff, you know.
