Medical ??? Regarding colds and nosebleeds
My daughter is home from school today, she has an awful cold. She's been having nose bleeds off and on for 2 days. She has a deviated septum that will have to be handled eventually so said her pediatrician. Would her having a cold have anything to do with the nosebleeds? She also has allergies as do i but i dont get nose bleeds at the same rate she does.

1. Many nosebleeds are caused by digital manipulation.
In other words -- is she picking? Not a big deal if she is (most kids/most adults do, even if they don't admit it). But that could be causing the problem...

3. If she has been blowing her nose alot
It might just be from irritation. If you have a hard time stopping the bleeding or it lasts for more than 4 or 5 days you might want to have it checked out.

4. Yes, she's been blowing her alot, the tip of her nose is so red and sore
looking. I've bought her the softest tissues i could find. the nose bleeds have been starting after blowing.

5. Its probably just the cold then
the little blood vessels in the nose are irritated and when she blows it they bleed a bit.
How old is she? I know my girls had a lot more nose bleeds in general when they hit about 11 or 12.
You might try a humidifier, the moisture might help.
