There she is... Miss America (slideshow)

The microphone is a little too high for Miss District of Columbia Therese Lizardo as she introduces herself during the first night of preliminary competition in the 2004 Miss America (news - web sites) Competition at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., Monday, Sept. 13, 2004.



Talent winner Miss Massachusetts Erika Ebbel, left, and :wow: swimsuit winner:wow:Miss Florida Jenna Edwards (more on that later).

Gang signals? Ozzy fan?


Miss New Jersey Erica Scanlon .

They all cressed up in 50's clothes to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Miss America being on TV.


Miss Washington Allison Porter-astronomy and astrophysics at Harvard,soon to be University of Washington Med student and part time boxer.

AND......the swimsuit winner :wow:
