Anyone is a Kate Chopin fan?
Literally DU.r's???? Someone said she liked her work and I am curious anyone else likes her and why?

1. Only read one of her works, but I recall really enjoying it.....
....I can't recall the title, although it's her most famous work. She was way ahead of her time--me thinks the ending to Thelma and Louise was based on this novel!!!!!!!!!!!

4. Read it in college and I recall the guys in the class NOT liking the
ending, but all the gals loving it. She really was ahead of her time, though, don't you think?

5. Have not read her work yet. I did some research and found the Awakening

8. I'm sure your local library has a copy. I was at Barnes and Nobel and
they had it with their "classics" section of novels they reprinted for a fairly cheap price!

11. I read "The Awakening" last year for American Literature.
Quite psychological, and way ahead of her time, in terms of a woman's place in marriage and society. Very controversial when it was first published. I thought it was pretty good, for what it was. If nothing else, it's a quick read (between 100-200 pages), and it flows well.
