5. I'm sure you already know this...
but make sure after you take the bandage off that you keep it moist so that it doesn't scab up. I used A&D Ointment. Great stuff, and I had no scabbing after my tattoo.

7. yeah...
but the lady who did it told me to leave it on a few hours... she said I bled a little bit more than normal, so it's just for protection till it seals itself a bit.

the lady who did it I've known for years... she made it quite clear, no itching and do not pick when it starts to scab... she knows me all too well :)

12. I don't know what the woman told you to use
But don't use anything like neosporan (sp?).
I used one of those medicated ointments on my first one and it was a bad idea. They tend to draw out the ink, and the tatt will scab more.
For all my other tatts I use Lubriderm and I had very little scabbing and the colors stayed pretty bright.
Enjoy your tattoo. Like they say...if you get one, you will become addicted.

15. she told me to use Neosporin for today and tomorrow
mainly because of the excessive bleeding (I take a shitload of motrin, per doc's orders so it thins the blood). Then after that go to Lubriderm, as long as it's fragrance free.

20. Got your Preparation H yet?
There's a tattoo shop in Chicago (I can't think of the name for the life of me -- but it's huge and prominent and all that) that swears by Prep H for post-tattoo care. (I don't have any tattoos myself, so I can't speak from experience...)
