1. Used to have one.
She did not seem to be more skittish than normal.

3. Aren't most cats easily scared?
I know mine all have been. I love watching them jump five feet straight up in the air when they get freaked out about some little thing.

No, I don't have a Hemingway cat. I haven't noticed anything different (except the paws) about all the stray Hemingway cats that roam about Key West though.

4. My parents have one

Their kitty, Polly, is a blue and cream tortoiseshell (I've come to love torties after seeing her), and she's probably the most fearless cat they've ever had. She's a good mouser, and she once killed a corn snake that got into the house.

She has five toes on both her back paws, five toes on her right front paw, and five toes plus dewclaw on her left front paw--she looks like she has hands. It's funny how quickly you get used to seeing all the extra toes---now other cats look to me like their paws are too small!

And she's been the hardest cat to train that we've ever had.

(By "training" I mean not running away from you when you move or walk.)

6. We've always had at least one
Did you get one too? :-)

Right now we have long hair Himalayan&Barn mixed breed brothers. Frankie, the flame point, has so many toes on his front paws that his legs actually turn outward to compensate.

Ours have always been males and so calm that the Vet laughs at their slow heart rates. I've never noticed that any of them scare easily.

7. Yes - here she is!

She is a scaredy cat, I must say.

8. My Eleanor's a polydactyl.
Five toes on each paw, yet she has the tiniest little feet. And yes, she is quite timid.

And here's my gratuitous kitty pic:

9. I had one for eight years. She died in April.
Simone was very easy startled. (Which was sort of funny at times....) She was a very nervous cat as cats go, and rather... jumpy. She was also a complainer.

This may sound like I didn't care for her, but I adored her. Even with her faults!

I don't know however if her nerves were related to her polydacty or to her breed/genetics.

What breed is yours?

Pcat (who misses her baby terribly.)
