Have any Republican buddies?
I do...have a few. The one that comes to mind tho is my bud Gary, who trust me - no matter how far to the left you are, you'd probably like him. Not the knuckledragging freeper you see sometimes, he knows his shit and truly believes in the whole "invisible hand" BS.

Interesting tho, he voted for Clinton twice, and considers him "one of our best Republican presidents." He's not voting for Bush this time around, but not voting for Kerry either - sitting home that day.

3. His argument against Kerry is the typical "tax and spend" mass liberal
Argument. I do agree with him, but of course I think taxing the rich and spending on the poor is needed right about now...

Kerry will probably be one of our most left leaning prez's - mark my words!

4. Better "tax and spend" than
Running the economy into the ground making your grandchildren pay off what you spend when much of it is spent on corporate handouts in one form or another with billions (nah, make that trillions) unaccounted for from the Pentagon.

Just saying. :hi:

6. I have several republican buddies.
As long as politics isn't brought up there are no arguements. Then I have to deal with the GWB knows all conversation.

7. Yes, but she is able to discuss things reasonably.
She is also anti-war. We know subjects to avoid as well.

9. yeah , one I can talk to about politics and one NOT
The one I can talk to is a moderate Republican and cares only about his view that the Dems will spend all of his money. He doesn't seem to deal well with the fact that Bush is spending all his money and whenever I bring this up, he will say oh both parties are rotten. When his son couldn't find a job and no medical insurance recently, I think he got the picture but it had to touch his own family before he could get it that voting Dem could be a better solution to this country's problems. His son just found a job and med insurance so I am now sure he is back to his regular thinking.

The other friend, well, we just stay off politics completely these days as she has become right wing GOP. As long as we stay off all politics, we are still good friends. She has been falling on hard times the last few years and may go bankrupt and I am wondering if that will turn her thinking around. SHe is very used to thinking that everyone should pay their own way and pull yourself up by the bootstraps thinking, whether you have boots or not.

10. I do
I have a lot, I live in TX.

I have a buddy like that. Fantastic guy, would give you ANYTHING if you ask. Devoted to his friends and family to the nth degree. Truly likeable and a good dad.

Voted for Clinton twice, too, but voted for bush in 2000 and is voting for him again this year.

So that sucks. But it's hard to not like him.

11. I go to a Catholic school
in the all-white, extremely conservative, redneck suburbs of St. Louis. My friends are 95% Repug. Good news is that out of the ones who will be eighteen as of 11/2, most are at least giving serious though to their vote.

Two of my friends (neither of whom can vote, unfortunately) both live in extrmely conservative homes, but hate *. Very good news (believe me, it's progress).

12. Yes, a few.
If I couldn't be friends with republicans, friends would be might scarce around here. We get along well, and don't let politics rule our relationships. I have politely cut off contact with a few that can't play by those rules.

14. haha, otherwise I'd be very lonely
When you're from the people's republic of Somerset (rednecks) you either have conservative friends or you have conservative enemies--there's literally no one else around. Even the few Dems are Zell Miller/Joe Lieberman Dems.

Most of them are OK. There are other things to talk about besides politics. Any mention of John Kerry may get you beat up though. They call him flaming John and much worse. While we are geographically a few miles north of the mason-dixon line and in PA, mentally we are in the deep South. (we're in the heart of Appalachia)

15. No, but I did have a date with a republican last week.
He's a nice guy, but I was hesitant about going out because he's a repub. Then I figured, it's just casual dating, so what the heck!
