Bowie Fans: Why was I unaware of this album?
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 12:50 PM by Dookus
It's a two-cd set called "Bowie and Eno Meet Glass: Heroes/Low Symphonies" by Phillip Glass. Came out last year, I guess.

I JUST got it and am listening to it right now. Update to come, but it's hard to imagine it isn't awesome.

Edit - the tracks are:

Disc 1

1 Heroes
2 Abdulmaijid
3 Sense of Doubt
4 Sons of the Silent Age
5 Neukoln
6 V2 Schneider

Disc 2

1 Subterraneans
2 Some Are
3 Warszawa

1. Been out for a while ...
I've never heard it, but I have heard of it.

2. I looked around
I guess the "Heroes Symphonies" were written in 1997, for a dance piece Twyla Tharp wanted to do. Don't know if it was ever staged.

This recording is from 2003, as far as I can see. It's two symphonies: Heroes and Low, recorded by The American Composers Orchestra and The Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra.
