Any know anything about Nebelung cats (or own one)
Today at my volunteer job at the Cat adoption center, we had a cat that was almost identical to my Evita: Long bluish/silver hair cat with green/copper eyes and a funny face that has a slight overbite (her fangs hang out of her mouth).

On the sign of this cat at the adoption center was a comment that it was thought to be a Nebelung mix. Nebelungs are an offshoot of Russian Blues but long hair instead of short. The breed was first recognized in the US back in 1986 so it's still a relatively new bread.

Now we've had other strange breeds come into our adoption center including a Bengal Cat and Pixie-Bob. But I'm trying to find out more about this breed (although mind you, Evita is still a 'mutt' but I'm curious to find out if she's got some fancy blue-blood in her).

Not much online. Didn't know if any DUers own a Nebelung

This is what a Nebelung looks like:

This is Evita:

It's just kinda neat to find out if you're adoption center rescue is a fancy pants. At least Evita thinks she is!

1. Gorgeous cat. People will abandon anything.
Fancy cats placed fast with us. Also cats with catastrophic injuries: blind, one-legged, amputated tail with head trauma (someone used the tail to swing the kitten's head into a wall). All of them placed into good loving families.

2. Don't know much about them but
it looks very much like my cat, Baby.

I found her abandoned in my garage the day after she was born. The mother just left her there and I was lucky enough to hear her meowing. I brought her in and the whole family took turns bottle feeding her and caring for her. That we two years ago and she is just our "baby" now. I often wondered about her fuzzy fur though. It has a different texture than a regular long haired cat. Is that true of the cat you had today?

4. That's my Evita!!!!!
The picture I posted of Evita does not do her justice, but she looks exactly like your picture.

Just out of curiousity - does your cats 'fang' teeth hang out in front of her mouth? The cat at the adoption center does the same exact thing and so does my Evita. It gives her a quirky smile

7. Baby's lower teeth extended
over her top teeth and were actually irritating her gums. I had to have the vet file them down so she could eat without pain.

5. Top notch cat food and A&H baking soda litter box
Seriously, I've found that upgrading the cat food has helped to eliminate some of the stink!
