He was the in-between cartoon on Alvin and the Chipmunks! (Between their episodes) I was truly a wee tot (I remember because I got my first bicycle around the same time, with training wheels)...when that show was on prime time and I still remember it...I liked how he would draw a big scientific thingamajig on the wall with his pencil and then it would become real! And his whispering aide, I forget his name...

I actually have a Clyde Crashcup comic book in one of my boxes in the basement...

I'm sorry to say I don't believe Clyde would exist in today's world...too much ideological vehemance from from the God Squad...
