How much would you sell a 2 year old PDA for? ...
My compaq ipaq 3955 is a nice device, but the Palm Tungsten T3 I played with has one feature I literally can't live without: A vibrate mode for the alarm. (my hearing problem makes listening to the ipaq's brief alarm impossible and without a PDA I'm going to forget way too much, it's pathetic how my mind is comparable to EMS memory, if you techies remember the golden era of PCs... :-( )

It's 1.8 years old and has 4 months left on the Best Buy warranty plan. (pity Best Buy doesn't sell the T3, but CompUSA does...)

Can any of you PDA experts give me an estimate?

(64mb RAM, 32mb ROM, WinCE 2002)

Thanks!

3. I just found out that Palm
Palm.com has a trade-in offer where I'd get $50.

I might do that.

Now only if Apple would make a similar offer to encourage PC owners to switch. :D I would be tempted as I cannot afford a Mac with the power I'd need (any Mac under $2500 is worthless to me and I could build a mostly comparable PC for $700, or even buy one at CompUSA's clearance rack for $750), followed by repurchasing all my software.

4. Good news about the Palm then.
I have a low value set for old digital equipment, unless its a router or a switch...
but for platform of choice... I have never used anything but Macs.
I figure you get what you pay for.

I will wager a used G5 tower maxed on RAM would get you somewhere.

You need friends at Apple to put you on their employee purchase program.

5. Good point!
It was OS X that rekindled my interest (My pre-OS X experience is another story that would lead to a silly flame war) in Apple, particularly as I've always preferred Motorola CPUs over Intel. (of course, AMD solved that little problem too, but I've always had respect for Motorola over the decades and was a HUGE Amiga fan... Should say 'is' as I still adore the Amiga...)

I had a chance to use OS X as well. And, I'll admit, despite my cynical and pompous nature, it was rather cool to use.
