The Non-Public Handbook For Novice Conservative Politicians
This is from another board and the poster says the author is unknown so I can't give any credit because I don't know who wrote it. If anyone knows where this came from, please give credit where credit is due:

THE NON-PUBLIC HANDBOOK FOR NOVICE CONSERVATIVE POLITICIANS

Our Non-Public Creed :

(A) We believe the acquisition of power and wealth is our right and as such is our only objective. We only support ourselves and those who embrace this agenda. Towards any other person anything we can take from those not embracing our agenda we have a right to. If they’re ignorant enough or weak enough to have it taken from them then they do not deserve it anyway.

(Remember: A man or woman of true moral fiber or social conscience can never be trusted and all efforts should be made to negate any probability that they could cripple our agenda. Honesty towards, or compassion for, those not embracing our agenda must never play into our private actions or reactions. There is no place for social conscience in our agenda.)

(B) Cultivate the art of lying until you excel at it.

(Remember: Lies gather votes. Votes provide power. Power ensures unchallenged wealth.)

(C) Always wrap yourself in the American flag. It has proven to provide the optimum engine for deception.

(Remember: Deception is the strongest weapon in our arsenal.)

Ten Non-Public Starting Points For The Novice :

1. Attack anyone who might challenge our agenda, labeling them liberal (or socialist or fringe or whatever the current catch-phrase might be). Those not obviously conservative, those trying to cling to middle ground, must be browbeaten and publicly ridiculed into submission whenever possible.

In our agenda there is no room for differing points of view. Money surrendered to create or magnify doubt and disrespect to disarm those suffering from social consciences has proven to be a tool that returns the investment many times over.

(Remember: Even a senator from Arizona will sell out his principles if enough pressure is exerted on him.)

2. Always embrace public education even when you know the last thing in the world we want is a better educated middle class challenging our agenda or, worse yet, trying to take their perceived share of our pie. Tell whatever lie you wish, adapting your own personal style, as long as you never forget that public funding will be slashed whenever it benefits our agenda. As long as our children are educated and theirs aren’t the money stays within the family.

(Remember: The less educated they are the easier they are to deceive and manipulate.)

3. War is profit and any chance to wage a war, just or unjust, real or imagined, enhances our power and wealth. Always aline yourself with those geared towards profit from war, pampering them, defending them, shielding them and never publicly challenging their motives.

(Remember: Never allow the political climate to shift enough to the point where the voting public actually expects or demands that our own children be also put in harm’s way defending our way of life. Our private agenda and our way of life has always been defended by the poor, the hapless and the idealistic. There is no reason to believe this will ever have to change.)

4. Embrace the anti-abortion, pro-life fraction because it will ensure us of a specific block of votes. Never allow yourself to think that a woman should have any real right to decide what she can or can not do with her body. The less options they have the more power we have.

(Remember: Wealth and power will always enable us to secure safe, private abortions for our own people. We aren’t interested in the moral implications of our own hypocrisy. We’re after a specific block of votes.)

5. Claim to believe in and champion family values even to the point of redundancy. Doing so has proven to assure a large block of voters. Tell any lie that will win you support even though you realize we have every intention of taking whatever we can from those less fortunate than us. Depriving the middle and lower class of the devices that allow them to improve their lives hinders their chances and elevates our own financial values.

(Remember: The more you stifle their real chances to improve their lot in life the more you add to your own bottom line.)

6. Wrap yourself around God and the conservative Christian agenda. Because we are as far removed from the true teachings of Christ as they are from practicing these teachings we are a perfect it and these people always assure us a large number of voters.

(Remember: These people are as blind to our real intent as we are to the true principles, the true spirit of, the teachings of Christ.)

7. Pretend to want to reform health care. It will gain you some more votes. But the key word here is pretend.

(Remember: We’re taken care of. We couldn’t care less about anyone else. We’ll give them a dime only if we know we’ll get a dollar back.)

8. Always beat the drum loudly when championing the concept of democracy. The louder the lie, the greater the hypocrisy, the more votes you’ll receive from the un-educated and uninformed masses. These people will never grasp the pure arrogance of our supporting corrupt overseas governments and dictatorships that help us become even wealthier while we claim an undying belief in spreading democracy.

(Remember: We couldn’t care less about the suffering and helplessness brought on the people of those countries as their heads of state add to our own wealth. We pay attention only when they place the welfare of their own people above the needs of our agenda.)

9. As hard as it will be to do so with a strait face you’ll have to learn to lie without laughing while claiming to also care about protecting the environment. But you must be careful to never start believing your own lies.

(Remember: We couldn’t care less about protecting anything except our wealth.)

10. Always, always champion de-regulation. Tell the uneducated, uninvolved masses that any government regulation is bad for them. Claiming there is too much government in our lives always wins a large block of votes. These people will never figure out that some well-meaning socially conscience politicians put these regulations in place to protect them from our greed.

(Remember: Take the lead of Regan and Bush, the more we de-regulate the more we screw the middle class. The more we screw the middle class the more wealthy we become.)
