What is the worst forum you've ever been on?

Don't say Free Republic because that's a given. ;)

The worst one that I was ever on was an Alabama football forum at al.com. No moderator, not many rules, horrible language. It was dog-eat-dog. I only lasted three posts before I quit posting.

Don't get me wrong - I am a Tide fan but that forum got nasty fast.

What about you guys? Any forum horror stories to tell?

9. I was there through the Clinton impeachment to the Gore election

I'll never forget the old Clinton impeachment threads. They were horrendous. People would become moderators just so they could abuse other posters.............
and there were some real vicious characters. LOL, Wispurr and her "Clinton is a rapist" posts and her straight from "True Confessions" personal stories.

12. Local message board.

Here in NW Ohio. No Mods, Just the morning talk wingnut. All sorts of ad homs. Gets on my nerves.

A typical conversation goes like this:

Me (or one of the 3 or 4 libs) Posts a message with an argument so perfect, it would bring tears to your eyes. No personal attacks, just the horrendous facts.

The response? We're all a bunch of librul, america haters, if we hate America so much maybe we should move to France!

I had one woman take me to task about my username! My USERNAME!!!!!
She was saying 'This isn't the federation DEAR, Maybe you should take off your rose colored glasses'

13. Texas Prep Xtra

It's a website that discusses Texas High School Football. One of their hosts is an ass and rather full of himself. He delights in telling people how wrong they are and how much their team sucks (even when that team wins a championship).

It's kinda like trying to talk sense to a Republican.

14. The "Talk Politics" forum on Lonely Planet

Note that Lonely Planet attracts people from all over the world to exchange travel advice. Well, the "Talk Politics" forum (at least before I totally gave up on it) was overrun with freeper types telling everyone else in the entire world what idiots they were for not bowing down and worshipping the good ole U. S. of A. Occasionally a European Marxist or two would join the fray, but mostly the level of discourse was what you would expect from a bunch of 13-year-old children of John Birchers and Klansmen.

Ever since wading into that slime bath a couple of years ago, I have been in total agreement with DU's policy of banning right wing disrupters.

15. This computer help forum

http://forums.techguy.org/ it's a very good help forum but one of the moderators is a REPUKE all the way and as soon as you step over the line and it don't take much you are threatened with removal. It's a very RW site. I don't go to it often anymore. But if you like a bit of abuse where free speech is NOT allowed check out the Civilized Debate section if you have a strong stomach.
