Update on my cat

Two weeks ago I posted about my cat having emergency surgery to remove her collar, which had grown into her neck. She is 14 years old and hyperthyroid, so it was risky surgery for her.

I am VERY happy to report that she is completely healed! The vet was absolutely amazed, and said "I thought we were going to lose her. I can't believe this. You did an excellent job of post-op care."

This kitty is TOUGH, I tell you. She lost 40% of her body weight last year and had a heart rate of 300 before they found out she was hyperthyroid. That's under control now and she actually has gained some weight since then. Then to have this traumatic surgery and recover so quickly is amazing!

Hopefully she will be around for several more years to come!

4. She is on daily medication

We had to fool with the dosage for a while, but finally found the correct dosage for her. She's eating like a horse and doing great on it, no side effects!

5. We lost one this morning

Simba was a big guy 9 years old and the way my wife described him when she found him it sounded like a heart attack.I buried him out back a little while ago.It was sad to me and I did cry

I have had to bury two dogs and a cat so far in my life. It is so sad to lose a beloved pet. My thoughts are with you.
