Poll question: Favorite Star Trek?
note: I'm not asking best Star Trek, just favorite. There may or may not be a difference

1. Next Generation
Although I like Kate Mulgrew and the cast of Voyager and the show, my loyalties are to TNG.

Not a fan of Troi though.

3. yeah, but Troi's mom is awesome!
ah... nurse chapel (and the computer voice too!)

it always pissed me off how troi was nothing more than a third rate psychic. ie, "i sense that those romulans can't be trusted"

duuuuuhhhhhhhhh

I am secretly in love with Worf.
OK it's not that secret.

2. Good thing you clarified.
Made me stop and realize that my favorite is TNG, but I think the best was TOS.

5. Voyager
Got silly a few times (a season of Janeway as butch with pithy one liners; combination Weaver in "Aliens" and James Bond) but it had compelling narrative.

than that of Patrick Stewart? I love you Jean Luc.

14. The original series
was amazing for its day; and I loved the campy element to it.

But The Next Generation was better science fiction, had better actors, better writers, better effects....

Still, it wouldn't have been all it was if not for the original.

15. Kirk era followed by Picard. The other series' are recycled drivel.

And both excel for their own reasons, I hate how Jonathan Frakes goes around saying how TNG is so much better (in ways, TNG is considerably WORSE, 'Ethics' instantly comes to mind as does the Worf/Romulan subplot in "The Enemy" (which is otherwise a A+ epsiode)...).

But MUCH to his credit (I don't want to give the impression he's a bad guy, he isn't!), Mr. Frakes (who actually is a great director) wanted his androgynous love interest in "The Outcast" to be male-oriented... (that episode is a big slap in the faces of GLBT people as the episode is clumsily written and shows a bunch of sexless beings wanting to be HETEROSEXUALS. :wtf: )

There was an "Enterprise" episode where the boobs-on-legs 'Vulcan' gets a disease because of a forbidden biological act (a mind-meld, how lame). :eyes: The producers were hamming (oops, hyping) it to be an AIDS allegory. Whatever. It was lacklustre dull drivel lacking imagination or even a tasteful presentation (even TOS' most blatant preaching "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" is infinitely more entertaining!).

Berman should have retired by 1992.

More on the GLBT slant:
