A fond farewell to the Iraqi Soccer Team

Well, they may not have won a medal, but they certainly won our hearts.:toast: Although losing 1-0 to Italy for the bronze, they played very well. Better than the Italians, actually, I think. But if there's one thing I've learned about international football, it's never underestimate the Italian defense. "Catenaccio" and all that. Another thing I've learned is that it's boring to watch Italy play.
Iraq were certainly not boring!! They made some mistakes, and some blunders, but they were inventive, fun to watch and damn stylish I might add.
But how about all those fouls, on both sides?? Is it just me, or was the referee over-reacting???
One last note before I declare this forum open for all footballing arguments under the sun...did anyone else see that goofy guy in the stands strumming on an Arab lute??? That was the greatest thing I've seen at a football match since...well...since the inflatable bananas invaded Manchester City maybe??
