What nonpartisan political websites do you visit?
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 01:38 PM by ih8thegop
I often go to two websites:

Political Graveyard: It's a website about politicians throughout history: Where and when they were born, what nicknames they went by (or go by), when and how they died, and of course, how they served as punblic officials. It includes things on people ranging from John F. Kennedy to John Belisle ("Socialist Workers Candidate for Presidential Elector for Michigan, 1968"). Be aware, though, that it is far from complete, and it hasn't been updated in about a year. But a new version is apparently coming soon. Besides, I plan on sleeping better knowing that Former Congressman Moses Field is buried in the same cemetery as my grandpa.

Vice-Presidents.com: Everything you'd ever want to know about the Vice Presidency of the United States and the officeholders thereof, and Vice-Presidential Elections (featuring Edwards vs. Cheney). Hey, did you know that William R.D. King (Franklin Pierce's VP) died six weeks into office because he was drunk? And don't forget to play VP trivia (it's kinda silly, though). The founder, Dan Coen, also has a blog about the Vice Presidency. I kinda think he's a Republican, though.

I really need glasses. edited, thanks lol. I misread it. My eyes are so playing tricks on me and political discussion actually does happen on the game boards, one guy gave a low review to MGS because of its anti nukes and said that the game was like a platform of the democratic party :eyes: what a bugger.

5. Not to get off subject,
but totally off subject, MGS (especially 2) is a wonderful game from a political point of view. I actually wrote a little thing last year after Scalia's "Quack quack" incident comparing him to the colonel in MGS2. What with his going a bit off the deep end. I wouldn't be surprised if that game got more things right about the real world than it even knows... (gotta love the disclaimer than it's fictional at the beginning).

6. Yes it is, great game play too
I felt the first one was better story wise honestly, really made my philosophical views from being meh I dunno much about nukes to why the hell do we have these things.

I actually played 2 long, long before 1. I got it in that phase when it came out and was "the thing to buy cause everyone is". I only played 1 for the first time when it just got re-released for gc.

9. OpenSecrets
I'm looking up members of my industry for an article...

Strangely, they don't contribute exclusively to Republicans.
So far, it's Republicans and a whole lot of Joe Lieberman.
