Man Stabs His Lawyer In His Butt, Forces Him To Withdraw $230
<snip>

HOBOKEN - A city man was arrested Wednesday morning after he stabbed his lawyer in the buttocks, forced him to withdraw $230 from an ATM machine and then returned to the attorney's apartment, where cops found him sitting on a sofa drinking a beer, police said.

Cops said they arrested Joseph Fallo, 33, of 13th Street, at about 7:30 a.m. and charged him with kidnapping, robbery, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

According to police reports, Fallo first arrived at his lawyer's apartment at around 6:45 a.m.

After he was let in, Fallo wrestled the lawyer to the ground, pulled out a knife and demanded that the attorney take him to an ATM and give him money. In the scuffle, Fallo stabbed the lawyer in the left buttock, police said.

The men then left the house and went to an ATM on Hudson Street. The lawyer withdrew $230 in cash and gave it to Fallo. Fallo left with the cash and apparently returned to the attorney's apartment, reports said.

A police officer passing by saw the transaction, noticed that the lawyer looked nervous and saw the blood on his pants, reports said. When he questioned the attorney, the cop learned that the man had been robbed and stabbed by Fallo, police said.

The officer escorted the lawyer back to his apartment and discovered Fallo sitting on a couch, reports said.

4. I assume that the lawyer is OK.
Most of us are just self-employed businessmen who bust their rear ends every day, so to speak.

9. Very good point
The lawyer probably tacked on a service fee for making the withdrawal.

10. I thought the $230 was coming out of the stabbed man's butt!
At least that's the way I read this. I'm not yet fully awake this morning.

13. OK, so can his lawyer testify against him?
Or is the entire episode 'attorney-client privilege'?

Either way, I think I'd probably get a new lawyer for the trial on these charges. Just MHO.

On the plus side, we apparently have won another victory in the 'war on terror'. "making terroristic threats" was one of the charges.

18. Charged with "making terroristic threats"
Pardon me, but :wtf:

How do you make "terroristic threats"? How is that distinguishable from an ordinary, every day, garden variety threat? Let me guess, this is more USA PATRIOT Act inspired nonsense designed to maximally punish anyone who gets cross-wise with the law.
