their ED, Pat Gurriero, was a former mayor here Massachusetts, who was selected by then Acting Governor Jane Swift to run as her Lt. Gov. The republican party then promptly abandoned her (a sitting governor) and Gurriero to draft romney for gov.

Gurriero's claim to fame was secretly allowing the dumping of tainted waste from the big dig (mercury-laden, i believe) near public golf course and parks i n his town.
