9. I somehow doubt
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 10:00 AM by pagerbear
...that having a reasonable serving of McGriddles, even if every day, will significantly add to anyone's obesity. I did not reach 450 lbs because I ate at McDonalds. I reached 450 lbs because I was trying to kill myself with high-volume binges of sweets and junk food. There is a big fucking difference.

On edit: Fuck, you made me do what I hate! I extrapolated my experience and made it universal in my post! Damn you!

18. Even at my top weight
...having spent almost all of my life terribly overweight, I had absolutely no arterial blockage. So it's not necessarily a given. But always something to keep on top of.

Damn! There I go extrapolatin' again!

20. Diets don't work
At least, not diets as we have come to think of the word. Most are designed to be temporary efforts. Drastic changes are very hard to stick with for most people. Small, easily managed changes are the ones most likely to last for most people.

just a reduction in eating my snack foods and doing more exercise, and actually eating breakfast.

31. Good plan!
Those fad diets are horrid. Lifestyle changes are the way to go. Healthier snacks would be a great idea... and brekfast is a MUST! If you skip breakfast your body automatically slows your metabolism.

I believe in simply reducing your intake, like not having that midnight snack, or that second bowl of ice cream.

Some things are worth the extra workout. ;)

I think those diets are inherently bad for your body, but that's just MHO. :)

Hey do you ever eat cereal bars? I'm addicted to the Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix bars... the Fruit & Nut ones... YUM!

And try just reducing the amounts of foods that make you fat, or the number of times you eat them, instead of cutting them out entirely. Small steps, remember.

You'll be ready for those Speedos in no time!

23. I Hate Those Things!
I love the breakfasts at McDonald's, but those McGriddle things. The maple flavoring taste so fakey, and they're way too sweet.

Give me the breakfast burrito or the spanish omelet bagel anytime.

Never steak and eggs. My parents never have, either. It wasn't something I grew up with, even as a luxury.

44. Me neither
My dad was a health nazi... we only got ice milk growing up... ice milk! And never steak. Never ever ever. Luckily we were friends with another family (for a while) in which the dad was quite the grilled / smoked meat aficionado.

But mmmmm.... steak and eggs is wonderful. I love biscuits and gravy, too (my favorite indulgent breakfast, actually). But you really should consider the steak and eggs if you can find a restaurant down there that uses a good cut of meat for it. Quite the treat!

29. my GF made me try one today! even tho she's never had one, she's
always wanted to, and since she was 40 miles away and I was at McD's, I got one. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I think I would have liked it better with the sausage cuz sausage and pancake syrup go sooooo well together, in my book.

My heart (clogged tho it may be, perhaps) still belongs to the bacon egg cheese biscuit or the real eggmcmuffin.

I get the egg and cheese McGriddle for me, and the sausage, egg and cheese McGriddle to split between my two cats and my dog about once a month. They see that McDonald's bag and they know it's McGriddle time (it's the only time I ever go to McDonald's).

Sometimes, when I'm travelling, I get one for the road.

When I first saw the ads for the McGriddles, I said "that can't be healthy". I'm sure they taste good.
