Cat help, cancer?
My mom's older cat, he's 10, vet thinks it may be a spot on his lung. The x-rays showed problem, doc was not sure if it was a tumor or collapsed or twisted lung.

If it is a twisted lung, how the heck could this have happened? I never heard of such a thing.

He has been vomiting bile occasionally, but has kind of slacked off on eating a bit.

Any suggestions? Poor mom has had a hellacious summer. Thanks Du cat lovers!! -Crozet

3. Mom has Mercury in Pisces (so she thinks like one)
and this damn Merc. retro in Virgo, it's been a rough few weeks for her. For sure.

Kitty is a guy cat, his name is Magellan (he's a Libra, 10/8/94)He is eating like normal today she said. We don't know what the heck it is...the vet wants to charge her $300 for an ultrasound and she's out of work at present. Go figure. Life sucks for her...

i don't think the ultrasound is necessary @ this point. as was pointed out, cancerous cats usu display an increased appetite w/ RAPID weight loss.

a collapsed or twisted lung cd be caused by a sharp blow, or a fall. look for labored breathing; if condition does not improve w/in 1-2 weeks, take him back to the vet for another Xray.

a collapsed lung or lung tumor shd not cause vomitus of bile. i suspect a stomach parasite like tape-worm. look for "rice grain" like objects around anus. don't waste money on OTC worm meds, they do nothing other than try to force the cat to vomit up the worm.

feel free to PM if you have further questions.

5. My cat Tiffany had a twisted lung at age 13
It is called a torsion. They operated on her and fixed it, and she lived almost three more years before passing away of a completely unrelated issue last month.

If it's cancer, I'm sorry, but the prognosis is not good. I feel for your mom. This summer has been hellacious in general. Sending good vibes for your mom and kitty.
