Great Friday music...listening to "Wretch" right now. Not one of their best, but still pretty awesome. Man, this band fuckin' rocks!

1. Great band....

Although like a lot of great bands, they've spanned some horrid, self indulgent imitators.

3. High on Fire's not bad.

But as far as so-called "stoner rock" goes, I like bands more on the punk end of the spectrum rather than metal. I did think Sleep was pretty ballsy, though, putting out a 52 minute song about Jesus and weed :smoke:

5. I agree about the punk v. metal thing.....

Although I like HOF because they straddle that line in a way similar to Motorhead, who I love.

Yeah, Sleep releasing a 52 minute song is one of the most classic moves in rock.

2. If not for Kyuss,

no QOTSA. Both are excellent though I prefer Queens. :)

4. Agreed wholeheartedly.

Kyuss was great, but QotSA are fucking amazing.

They're one of the bands that reassure me that rock is far from dead.
