Log Cabin Leaders "Disappointed" By Republican Platform - My letter...

I laughed (a bitter laugh to be sure) at the message from the LCR about how they were disappointed by the Republican Leaders choice to not follow the 'mainstream'. I wrote this little letter to them:

I must admit that I'm befuddled.

How could you expect any less than the Republicans pushing your group, and several others, to the side? You do not fit in their idea of America. To them gay is a disease to be cured not a people to be included.

While I am a Democrat - tried and true - I wish you the best of luck with your political decision. Just remember that it gets cold out there when you're alone and it seems that the Republican party is more than willing to drop you by the roadside.

1. I've never understood the LCR

I just don't understand selling your soul to the Devil for a few pieces of silver, which is what that group has done. Republicans hate homosexuality. They will never accept the LCR into their fold. All they will do is take their few votes and ignore them at the very least and try to bash them at the worst.

Good letter. More and more people should write them. After a while, maybe someone will come to his/her senses.

2. Log Cabin Republicans are beyond our help.

They are so self-loathing and misguided that words fail me.

Any group that supports an organization that is so completely against them is beyond pathetic. I file them in the same category as "Jews for Hitler."

Good luck trying to sway them, but I think they're way too far gone for help.

3. LCR's puzzle the hell out of me too......

I just don't get the idea of supporting people who hate your way of life and some of the personal choices you make - who don't want you to enter into a loving relationship with a person of your choice and have the same legal protections of "normal" people. What are these LCR people - masochists ????

4. I used to pity the LCR...now I'm entirely indifferent to them.

The Republican Party has essentially said that our (gay and lesbian) relationships are worthless...hell, less than worthless, to be frank about it. The GOP is now on record as stating that our relationships are not worthy of legal recognition and respect. And the LCR seems to be wishy-washy about it. "Disappointed"?

I could care less what the LCR thinks now.

I am so sick of that fucking word, especially coming from them. They don't seem to get "disgusted" or "outraged" or "angry", they always use the namby-pamby word "disappointed" as though they are afraid of angering their gods by being too hard on them. Punks!

I mean, are we talking about a group whose numbers could fill Yankee Stadium, or (more likely) a phone booth outside Yankee Stadium? They sure seem to enjoy an outsized amount of coverage for their tiny numbers. But then, conservative Negroes are all over the cable and network news, but you can count their number on your fingers.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands, millions even, of gay activists and their supporters can't get 30 uninterrupted seconds to explain why equal rights should be extended to all persons.
