Is Using The Handicapped Stall The Same As Parking In A Handicapped Spot?
is it as bad?

if you are not handicapped and you like to 'stretch out' in a handicapped stall, have you ever been 'caught' by a handicapped person who needed it?

if you use the handicapped stall and you are NOT handicapped, do you feel remorse?

ah, life's great questions

1. Nawww!
We women sometimes have to stand in line to use the stalls at that point you take what you get next in line.

However it's probably better not to use it if other seats are available.

5. Nope
Not the same and I don't feel any remorse. I won't use it if another stall is available but all's fair when the urge hits ya.

6. once
I vacated the stall immediately and apologized. The guy was nice about it.

Hey, I don't like my arms pressed against my side in a tiny stall.

7. Nope
If you park in a handicapped space and someone needs it, they're pretty much out of luck. If you're using a handicapped stall, someone who needs it will only have to wait a couple of minutes (unless maybe you ate at Taco Bell or something).

Handicapped stalls aren't reserved, they're just set up to accomodate. Use any stall you want.

8. Sure.
I poop in the handicapped parking spaces all the time.

I'm kinda bitter about the good spots they get. :)

9. No way ...
Its like riding in First Class. I always use the handicap stall.

It is different than parking because, you are there for a few minutes (versus leaving your car for some unknown amount of time).

Cheers

10. The "Tall Boy"?
As I have heard it called. No unless a handicapped person comes in, then you are going to hell.

12. Yes and No. Obviously if a handicapped person is waiting in line...
she/he should be let in front. Otherwise, it's ok to use it. A bit different than a parking space since it usually takes just a minute or two to free the stall if a handicapped person shows up.

My mom was in a wheelchair, and I remember back in the 70s when they first started having wheelchair parking and handicapped access in bathrooms... I can't tell you how often people went into the handicapped stall while my Mom was waiting in line. I hope that's not still happenening.

14. In women's restrooms the handicapped stall
has pretty much morphed into the stall reserved for women accompanied by several small children. That way they can all fit in the same stall.

I don't have any small kids myself, but its gotta be tough to be out in a public place and have three little ones that need to pee.

16. I'm going to say no because expecting us to set aside 50%...
of the toilets (in many men's bathrooms there are only 2 toilets) for the exclusive use of a small group is not realistic. If there is a handicapped person waiting, they get to go first. And as with any public toilet one should not dawdle while using it.

19. That's My Position Too
In and out. If someone in a wheelchair is there, then i'll wait.

As you might know, i have MS, and i'm probably legit using any handicapped conveyance. But, i don't, except for the bathroom thing.

18. The difference between a handicap parking spot and
a handicap toilet is the parking spot is marked, usually with a threat of a fine, the toilet is not.

I happen to carry around a rather large bookbag, so I dont like having to squeeze in some of the ultra tiny spaces, that and I dont take my leisurly time, I prefer to be in contact with a public toilet seat in as short a time as possible.

21. If you're in an office building, on a floor with no one in a wheelchair
I say fair game. Odds of a handicapped person needing it are miniscule.

However, in a public place like a restaurant or stadium, I'd only use it as last resort.

22. When my back is giving me a lot of pain, that support bar is a real help
And I have recieved nasty looks from others in a not-crowded restroom, even when there was no one in a wheelchair or using crutches in sight.

Sort of silly not to use it when it is not needed at the time. It's not like you are gonna take up the space for an hour or two while you shop.

25. When nature calls...
we answer. I also found the larger stalls a blessing while shepherding toddlers. Once in a mall the entire place erupted into laughter as my oldest discovered and screeched LOUDLY, "Hey MOMMY, YOU DON'T HAVE A PENIS!!"

24. I think it's just fine.
I mean you need to use some common courtesy when there is a handicapped person, but for the most part, it's a free for all.

My mom has always been a larger woman and for her to attempt to fit into those tiny stalls was a joke. She is just more comfortable in the bigger ones. (Luckily she doesn't have that problem anymore as she just lost over 100 pounds...go mom!)
