YAY, I finally got Sirius radio :)
Sadly, I can't listen to it at work until they send me my streaming audio password. I have no window in my office, so no place for the antenna.

BUT, it works in the car :)

YAY!

This means after they send me my password, I'll have not only great music, but uninterrupted Air America :)

WOOOHOOOO

1. Gimme some info
I'm thinking about it.

1. How much did it cost overall?

2. What equipment did have to get/replace in your car?

3. Where did you buy it at?

2. I paid more than I should have. . .
I could have gotten it cheaper if i wanted to wait for shipping, etc.

I bought the receiver, car mounting kit and home kit for $200. If you're more patient than I am (highly likely), you can go to https://home.sirius.com/shop/selectreceiver.asp?source=653&occ=go6530 and get a JVC unit with both home and car kits for $129 plus shipping. Use promotion code 653

I didn't have to replace anything in the car, the kit has an FM modulator that sends out a signal on an unused FM band, and it's crystal clear. You just plug it into your cigarette lighter for power.

I got mine at Radio Shack (thus the higher price), but I was anxious and wanted instant gratification.

They have different subscription plans to, the longer you pre-pay the more you save. I went with a quarterly plan which didn't save me much over the $12.95 a month for the monthly plan, but I think you save a couple bucks a month by buying a 2 year plan. . . not worth it in my opinion, I'd rather just pay as I go.

4. No problem :)
The FM modulator works MUCH better than I thought it would, it's clear as a bell.

7. I would guess so.
Since AAR isn't a Sirius based station, they probably have comercials. I almost perfer it to dead air space. When the stream goes blank sometimes I've lost the stream and don't realize it.

8. You do get commercials, but they are Sirius commercials, not
the regular advertisers. They advertise special stuff available from Sirius, new programs that will be coming up, etc.

:)

I'm listening to Randi now :)
