A new worm uses Web cameras to spy on computer users in their home or workplace, Lynnfield, Mass.-based antivirus firm Sophos said. W32.Rbot-GR spreads via network shares, exploiting a number of Microsoft security vulnerabilities and installing a backdoor Trojan as it travels. Once installed, a remote attacker could easily gain access to the information on the PC's hard drive and steal passwords, all the while spying on users through Web cameras and microphones.
