self indulgent rant: compassionate conservatives suck!

OK, so a couple of months ago, i had to open the pet shop where i work. I stepped outside to have a breather and a smoke and the damn door slammed shut behind me. So there I am with no way to get back inside, but thankfully I had my car keys in my pocket. So I zoom home to call my boss to let her know that we should be open, but we aren't, because I foolishly locked myself out.

So on the way, i get pulled over and get ticketed for everything, going 35 in a 25, no license, no insurance. (Of course i have that stuff, its all in my wallet which is locked up in the damn shop)

Well, I think I have mitigating circumstances, so I appeal and ask for a hearing, which I just returned from. I got there an hour early and listened to the judge reduce fines for a bunch of teenagers that had their parents with them. All i get is time payments and and bunch of rolling eyes when I tired to explain. then the judge says that if i can come back in a year and prove that I have had auto insurance the whole time, he will strike the citation from my record. I got a little louder than I should have and told him i have never never in 20 plus years of driving NOT carried auto insurance. THE DAMN INSURANCE CARD AND LICENSE WAS LOCKED UP IN THE STORE. So for getting angry, I get no reduction in fine, but then again maybe it was the Kerry Edward button I was wearing...... I can't effing believe this stuff........
