Is it possible to re-pierce holes that have closed?
Specifically in your earlobe & if so, what is the best method?

8. Beat me to it!

I was going to suggest a dozen roses, expensive champagne and a bubble bath surrounded by lots of scented candles with some Marvin Gaye on the stereo. That's what my woman is getting when she gets home tomorrow night. Shhhh!!! don't tell her.

5. I think you're supposed to avoid piercing in the same place
It is difficult to heal from cutting through scar tissue

10. Yes
you can re-pierce, after 20 years, if I leave my earrings out for over a week, the holes start closing up. I've had them re-pierced twice. It is a bit more painful through the scar tissue....

13. Wow!... I have gone at least a year I think without wearing earrings in...
the past and have never had to re-pierce the lobes. I guess I won't do that again.

23. Mine never healed shut
My right ear lobe is pierced and I can still put an stud in it if I choose - which I don't. I had it pierced (by some drunken, stoned friends - the ONLY way) when I was 15 and I'm 51 now. I quit wearing studs, or whatever, many years ago, but I occasionally check it - and the holes still there. No, it's not gaping or anything, you can't even see it. My philosophy is, when kids in the 'burbs start doing it - it's OVER. And most older men look just plain stupid with pierced ears. Especially certain newscasters who shall remain nameless.

25. and then some holes don't seem to close ever..
I have about 20 piercings( give or take) and, depending on the location, some seem to never close and some start closing as soon as the jewelry is removed but I have had my septum repierced 3 times. I have been told if you repierce too many times in the same spot that scar tissue will eventually make it more difficult.
